Artistic and cultural awareness
Artistic and cultural awareness
L’Atelier des Cinq Soleils places the artistic and cultural awakening of children aged 0 to 6 at the heart of its actions, reflections and research. We look at the place of art in children’s development, the importance of play and “play objects” rather than toys, and the role of adults in supporting children’s unlimited creative potential.
Our workshops
Our fundamental principles
ART | PEDAGOGY | PLAY
We believe that the relationship between art, pedagogy and play is a powerful one. It builds bridges between various disciplines, fostering the learning and development of motor, cognitive and social skills.
Our workshops and ephemeral art installations are designed for children, their families and the professionals who work with them.
Our goals
Support children’s creativity for healthy growth and sensitivity.
Strengthen parent-child bonds through shared activities.
Cultivating children’s well-being and autonomy.
Support sensory, motor and symbolic development.
Support the child’ s emotions and questions.
Our approach: innovative mediation
We offer innovative mediations that focus on the process rather than the result. Each encounter is an opportunity to slow down, look differently and be surprised. Our approach is distinguished by its exploratory simplicity and shared pleasure.
We are inspired by the Italian Reggio Emilia teaching approach, adopting its principles on a daily basis:
Art as language of expression
Art is a richly formatted language that children can use to communicate their thoughts, emotions and ideas.
The child at the center
In our workshops, we attach great importance to the children’s ideas, accompanying them to encourage their artistic, physical and emotional expression in complete freedom. Children are active co-constructors of their own discoveries and learning.
Multisensoriality
We carefully design sensory mediation devices that encourage children to explore and learn, making them autonomous, joyful and proud to create and discover for themselves.
The Environment as the Third Teacher
We carefully design sensory mediation devices that encourage children to explore and learn, making them autonomous, joyful and proud to create and discover for themselves.
Process before result
Every construction, exploration and gesture is enthusiastically supported. The simplicity of each manipulation and the wonder of the unexpected are what count most.
The adult as facilitator
Our activities encourage moments of complicity between child and adult. The adult’s role is to invite the child to experiment, to ask the right questions, and to accompany him or her to create situations conducive to the development of the child’s skills and harmonious interactions with others present in the activity.
